Eretria - Restaurant & Cafe

Cafe and restaurant in Eretria. The construction and configuration of the green area of approximately 800 m2 began in November 2008 and was completed about 15 days later.

It is a green area, located 5m from the sea, which makes it particularly vulnerable to salinity. For this reason, a ready-made lawn of a special variety was placed, resistant to salinity but also to maintain its green color all year round.

Perennials were planted around the surface of the lawn, while Rhynchospermum jasminoides were planted in various parts of the cafeteria, in order to climb wooden trellis. On the facade of the cafe overlooking the sea, a large flowerbed was built in which small and large shrubs were planted, tamarisk trees (Tamarix sp.), Aromatic plants and herbs, carefully selected to be resistant to salinity from the sea. Inside the cafeteria and in selected places, high quality plastic pots were placed in which Olives (Olea europea) were planted.

A fully automated irrigation system was installed throughout the garden using solenoid valves and a central stop control programmer. A self-adjusting drip pipe was installed for watering trees and shrubs and a pop up for lawn irrigation.
